One of the benefits of travel hacking is having perks even when flying on budget airlines. On our recent flight from Copenhagen to London Luton we flew the well renowned RYANAIR, which wasn't that all that bad, but that's another story. Since our basic coach ticket gave us no lounge access like our business class SAS tickets did, we used our Priority Pass to get into the Aviator Lounge at CPH. The Priority Pass gives you access to hundreds of airport lounges across the world and many credit cards offer this for as an added benefit. We got our card from the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which gives the holder and guests access to lounges.
As we had never been to the Aviator Lounge before we made sure to get to the airport nice and early. We found the lounge quickly. It was located near the exit of security on the first floor of terminal 2 between gates A and B. Copenhagen isn't the biggest airport, but note that RyanAir's gate F location was about 20-25 minutes from the lounge.
We got to the lounge around noon and there were several open seats at that time, but when we left at 1:45pm it was packed. The first thing we noticed about the lounge was the classic minimalist Scandinavian design that we had become accustomed to throughout our time in Sweden and Denmark. The chairs were comfortable it provided for a nice place to chill or get some work done.
The food and drink spread was pretty standard, but there was a self serve bar that featured red & white wine and of course Carlsberg. The food spread consisted of salad, an assortment of fresh baked breads, cheese and a coffee machine. It did the job, but I went out for one last Danish hot dog at Stef's Place before boarding.
The Copenhagen airport provides WIFI for free throughout the airport, the Danes are nice like that, so the lounge was connected via that network. It was speedy and we had no issues.
Overall the lounge was fairly basic, but we got a couple of free drinks, snacks and a place to hang out. It was all because of the Priority Pass. We'll go back next time we visit the Copenhagen Airport.
